Day Trip 3

Fez Sightseeing City Tour

Featuring:

UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Medina.

After a satisfying breakfast, your local guide will accompany you on an exciting adventure to explore and learn about the wonders of Fez. This imperial city holds great historical and cultural significance, serving as the capital of science in Morocco and being home to the world’s first university, the University of Al-Qarawiyyin. Fez attracts visitors from all over Morocco and around the globe.

With a rich history as the former capital of kings, Fez showcases impressive architecture and fortified ramparts that once protected the kings and their territories from potential enemies. Although the ravages of war have affected the city, they have also sparked a desire for modernity and progress. It is thanks to our ancestors’ ingenuity that we can admire the beautiful and awe-inspiring views that stand as a testament to their remarkable heritage.

Fez boasts a mediaeval Medina, an old town, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. Medina is home to charming old houses known as riads. There are many remarkable landmarks to explore, such as the Marinid Tombs, the striking Bab Bou Jeloud gate, the Royal Palace, the Bouanania Mosque, and the Medersas (educational institutions) of Attarine, among others.

At the end of an eventful day, we will spend the night in Fes, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere and appreciate its historical and cultural significance.
