Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Gorge.
On the morning of the first day we will meet you wherever you are in Marrakech. We will drive over the High Atlas Mountains, through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, to the province of Ouarzazate. We will stop at Ait Ben Haddou. The 17th century ksar (fortified village) is a UNESCO World Heritage site in honour of its place in history. We will drive to Ouarzazate for lunch, then tour Atlas Studios where many popular movies have been filmed, and Kasbah Taourirt which was home to one of Morocco’s most powerful families in the 19th century. We will drive to Dades Gorge to spend the night.
Day 2: Dades Gorge - Merzouga - Luxury Campsite.
We will wake up early, enjoy breakfast, and drive to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. There you will find a camel waiting to carry you over the dunes to the luxury campsite where you will have time to relax, witness a gorgeous sunset, enjoy a tasty dinner, and relax by a campfire with live music before you sleep.
Day 3: Luxury Campsite - Ouarzazate - Marrakech.
If you wake up early, you will see a spectacular sunrise before breakfast! After breakfast we will trek out of the desert by car or camels (your choice), then drive back to Ouarzazate. We will take a different route than the one we came by to show you even more Berber villages. We will have lunch in Ouarzazate before driving on to Marrakech, taking breaks to rest and to take more photos as needed. Once in the city, we will drop you off at your hotel for the night.
