Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Marrakech - Essaouira.
We will meet you in Marrakech and drive west to Essaouira, the coastal city formerly known as Mogador. It is a UNESCO World Heritage city for its medina and fortified sea walls. Enjoy a stroll through the old town and sometime on the beach before we find a hotel for the night.
Day 2: Essaouira - Agadir - Taroudant.
After breakfast we will drive to Agadir, another beautiful coastal city, where we will explore the city and enjoy a lunch of the freshest possible seafood. From there we will drive to Taroudant which is sometimes called “LIttle Marrakech” or the “Grandmother of Marrakech.” It was built over 500 years ago as a base from which Moroccans could attack the Portuguese - who built Essaouira. The city walls still stand. We can wander those, the two souks, and the medina. The nearby town of Tiout was the background to the movie Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. They offer an optional donkey ride through the palm grove which is both impressive and relaxing. Please let us know if you are interested.
Day 3: Taroudant - Marrakech.
After breakfast we will drive north to Marrakech. There will be plenty of time to explore the city a bit before we go to the hotel for the night.
Day 4: Marrakech City Tour.
We will devote the entire day to exploring Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most important imperial cities. The city has been the capital of the country several times since it was founded in 1070. There are many sites of historic and cultural interest to visit including the Saadian tombs, Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, and of course, Jemaa el Fna, the nightly entertainment in the city’s main square.
Day 5: Departure.
After breakfast we will take you to the airport or another location of your choice to end our tour.
