Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Agadir
Agadir is well known for its modern look after being rebuilt post-earthquake in 1960, Agadir has wide beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. You can enjoy a relaxing morning by the beach or take part in water sports. A visit to the ruins of the old kasbah offers panoramic views of the city and coastline. Souk El Had is one of the largest markets in Morocco, where you can shop for local crafts, spices, and food. A stroll along the marina in the evening, lined with cafes and restaurants offering fresh seafood. Accommodation will be in Agadir tonight.
Day 2: Agadir to Legzira Beach
Today we will drive south of Agadir to Legzira Beach. Legzira Beach is famous for its unique rock formations and arches carved by the sea. It’s a quiet and secluded spot, ideal for those looking to escape crowded tourist areas. You will have free time to walk along the beach, enjoy the scenery, swim, or take photos of the arches, especially at sunset when the colours of the cliffs become vibrant. There are a few simple guesthouses near the beach, perfect for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Legzira to Imsouane
This morning we will travel to Imsouane. Imsouane is a small fishing village that’s gaining popularity for its peaceful vibe and excellent surf. Imsouane is famous for its long waves, particularly at "The Bay," one of the best surf spots in the region. Even if you don’t surf, you can enjoy watching surfers or rent a board for a lesson. Or you can relax by the beach or visit the local fishing port where fishermen bring in fresh catches. You can try grilled fish at one of the small local restaurants. There are several charming guesthouses and surf camps that offer accommodation with ocean views for tonight.
Day 4: Imsouane to Essaouira
Today we will drive to Essaouira following the scenic coastline. Essaouira is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed city, famous for its winds, making it a kite and windsurfing hotspot.
Time to explore and wander the medina’s narrow streets filled with artisans, galleries, and craft shops selling items like Thuya wood products and jewellery.
Visit the Skala du Port, a fortress that overlooks the Atlantic and provides views of the harbour and city. Watch fishermen bring in their daily catch at the port and enjoy fresh seafood grilled right on the spot. Essaouira is known for its cultural festivals, such as the Gnaoua World Music Festival. The city's artistic atmosphere gives it a laid-back, bohemian vibe. There are many boutique riads inside the medina, perfect for an atmospheric stay.
Day 5: Essaouira to Marrakech
After breakfast, head inland to Marrakech. Marrakech is one of Morocco’s most famous cities, known for its vibrant atmosphere, stunning architecture, and rich history.
Start your exploration in the heart of the city, at Jemaa el-Fnaa, this bustling square, known for street performers, food stalls, and merchants selling everything from spices to traditional clothes. Then a visit to Koutoubia Mosque. Admire the largest mosque in Marrakech, with its striking minaret. A visit to Bahia Palace, a 19th-century palace known for its beautiful courtyards, gardens, and intricate tile work. You will stay the night in Marrakech, there is a wide variety of accommodations, from traditional riads to luxury hotels.
Day 6: Marrakech
Full day in Marrakech. You can spend the day exploring more of the city's sights and immersing yourself in its rich culture by visiting some of these places.
Majorelle Garden: Visit this famous garden designed by the French artist Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent. The gardens are filled with exotic plants and vibrant blue buildings.
Saadian Tombs: Discover the Saadian dynasty’s burial site, featuring beautifully decorated chambers.
Medina: Get lost in the narrow streets of the medina, where you’ll find countless souks selling carpets, pottery, leather goods, and more.
Evening Hammam: After a day of exploration, unwind with a traditional Moroccan hammam (steam bath) experience.
Nightlife: Marrakech also offers great nightlife, from rooftop bars to live music venues.
Day 7: Marrakech to Agadir
Return to Agadir. Depending on your schedule, you might have time for a quick visit to more of Agadir’s sights or enjoy a final relaxing moment on the beach before concluding your trip.
